Tamanna Monem focuses on the growth strategy and strategic partnerships, working with key economic stakeholders including public sectors and institutes in Australia and overseas, to support expansion of programs and cell therapy manufacturing and innovation capabilities.
Tamanna is an award-winning, strategic and commercially focused senior executive, and worked within corporate, research and public sectors over two decades.
Tamanna has extensive experience and broad understanding of public policy, industry development, export facilitation and investment attraction strategies. She developed strategic networks with key stakeholders including national and international governments, research and corporate sectors in Australia and overseas. Tamanna led the development and implementation of large-scale commercial, industrial and investment attraction strategies in multiple sectors including health and medtech, manufacturing, defence, marine, agriculture, energy and infrastructure. She is highly regarded as a trusted, collaborative and authentic leader, and received multiple awards for creation of flagship programs supporting the growth of Australian SMEs, contribution towards bilateral export relationships and establishment of governance highlighting the triple helix collaboration with industry, academia and governments for industry growth. Tamanna won the Female Defence Leader Award in 2021, Rising Star for Defence Industry in 2020 and Professional of the Year award in 2016.
Tamanna is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD), studied MBA and Hons in Public Administration.
Outside of QIMR Berghofer role, Tamanna is the Director of the Robotics Australia Group, Mentor at Brisbane Business Hub and the founder of Women in Export, Innovation and Investment (WEII) Foundation.
