Mitchell Petrie

QIMR Berghofer - Council Member

Mr Petrie is a former Partner, KPMG Australia and an experienced director.

He was a Partner with KPMG Australia for 16 years and retired from the KPMG Partnership in December 2015.

He has significant experience in corporate governance and enterprise risk management, board advisory, internal controls, statutory financial reporting and governance, risk and controls for major capital projects.

He has audited a range of clients in both the public and private sectors in industries such as transport, construction/infrastructure, NGO (scientific research and community service), and diversified industrials. Many of his clients operated on a multi-national basis.

In addition to his role as an external audit Partner, he was the partner-in-charge of the KPMG Brisbane Internal Audit, Risk and Control Services (IARCS) practice which provides internal audit, risk management and corporate governance advisory services to public and private sector organisations.  In this role he managed the QIMR Berghofer internal audit for many years.

Mr Petrie is currently a member of the QIMR Berghofer Finance & Audit Committee.
