Lisa Rigby joined MCL in June 2014 as a part-time PhD student. She is investigating the impacts of insecticide resistance adaptations on the transmission of vector-borne diseases. She also works full-time as an Entomologist at the Australian Defence Force Malaria and Infectious Disease Institute. Her research interests include studies on insecticide resistance in mosquitoes, mosquito repellents and the effectiveness of current mosquito control techniques and their implementation by defence force personnel. She has a keen interest in educating personnel from local and foreign defence forces in mosquito surveillance and control. She has published scientific papers on glow-worms, scale insects and mosquitoes.
