CAREER HISTORY

Julie joined the Child and Youth Mental Health Lab at QIMR Berghofer as a Senior Research Assistant in June 2020 and is concurrently pursuing her PhD to further her research in the epidemiology of youth mental health. Julie completed a Master’s degree in Epidemiology at the University of Queensland, investigating the association between caesarean section birth and cognitive performance in offspring and has also worked for the Primary Health Network (PHN) where she held several roles within the Partners in Recovery (PIR) Program, which is aimed at supporting people with severe and persistent mental illness with complex needs.

RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS

• Completion of the first systematic review, summarising the literature examining the association between caesarean birth and cognitive performance in offspring.

 

CURRENT AREA OF RESEARCH

Julie is involved in a number of research projects within the Child and Youth Mental Health lab focusing on a broad range of areas related to child and adolescent mental health.
