Jodie Painter

Associate Professor | Senior Research Officer

Psychiatric Genetics

CAREER HISTORY

Dr Painter is a mid-career researcher with over 13-years’ experience in her current research field, investigating the genetic basis of complex traits (human traits or diseases with multiple contributing factors). Her primary research interest is in the genetics underlying reproductive health, particularly of conditions that can affect achieving and maintaining a healthy pregnancy: current research topics include investigating genetic factors contributing to infertility and to miscarriage. Having started her career in a wet-lab, Dr Painter also has a strong research interest in bioinformatics, using large-scale genetic and biological data to determine how genetics impacts our susceptibility to disease at a functional level.
