Current Area of Research
Henry Simila joined MCL in October 2017. He previously worked at the Queensland Brain Institute (UQ-QBI), the Australian Defence Force Malaria and Infectious Disease Institute (ADFMIDI), Biotest Laboratories and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Henry has a MSc (Queensland University of Technology) on the production of Androgen Receptor Ligand Binding Domain (AR-LBD) and its interaction AR-LBD receptors in breast and prostate cancers. He has a broad skill set (mass spectrometry, HPLC, GC, tissue culture) and is now responsible for the management of our insectary (including quarantine compliance), supporting the work of the MARC and assisting with studies on vector competence and the routine molecular diagnostics associated with the maintenance of our mosquito colonies.
