Come along to a Mamma Mia themed twilight racing event to be held at Toowoomba on Friday 25 September. Dress up as your inner Dancing Queen and enjoy the fun, excitement, and glamour of a day at the races, with a twist… it’s on at night!
The 10 race program will be on the new cushion track at Clifford Park starting at 4pm and continuing into the night. The proceeds from the event will go towards funding medical research at the Queensland Institute for Medical Research (QIMR) and supporting the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation.
Fitton Insurance Brokers have organised this annual event since 1999, and have raised $200,000 for cancer research at QIMR.
Del Fitton says, “We are expecting about 300 people to attend the event. The highlight will be the Fitton Insurance Hopeful Plate: the first two year old race of the season.”
“I believe in supporting the community. It is a great pleasure to support the work of the scientists at QIMR.”
Clive Berghofer, a regular supporter of QIMR research, and Mike Horan, the LNP member for Toowoomba South, will be attending.
By coming along, you can support the scientific research at the QIMR. QIMR employs over 600 scientists and is one of Australia’s largest and most successful medical institutes. QIMR research is wide-ranging, from environmental and genetic causes of disease, to drug discovery, vaccine development, and new, more accurate diagnostic tests. Diseases such as cancers, cystic fibrosis, endometriosis, asthma, arthritis, mental and Indigenous health are all investigated at the QIMR facilities in Brisbane.
The Fitton Insurance Race Day will be held at Clifford Park on Friday 25 September starting at 4pm. Tickets are $95 per person and can be purchased by contacting Fitton Insurance Brokers.
