Infamous Bodyline Ashes Test memorabilia up for grabs in aid of medical research

The Queensland Institute of Medical Research (QIMR) has teamed up with GraysOnline to run a charity auction giving sporting fans the chance to get their hands on some rare sporting memorabilia, with bidding starting at only $9.

All proceeds will support medical research into the causes and prevention of over 40 of the world’s most debilitating diseases including cancer, malaria, HIV, mental health and asthma.

The prized collection includes framed photos of the infamous Australia vs England 1932-1933 Bodyline Ashes test series, featuring autographs from English cricket captain Douglas R Jardine, fast bowler Harold Larwood and Aussie legend Don Bradman.

More than 40 sports collector’s items are available for auction, including autographed photos, drawings and uniforms signed by some of Australia’s greatest sporting legends.

• Framed photograph of Wally Lewis vs Mark Geyer in the State of Origin ’91
• Individual autographed drawings of members of Australia’s 1948 cricket team
• Running suit autographed by Australian Olympic runners Matt Shervington and Kyle Vanderkuyp
• Sydney 2000 Olympic Volleyball suit autographed by Australian gold medallists Kerri Pottharst and Natalie Cook
• World Cup 2003 Wallabies jersey autographed by John Eales
