Brisbane law firm helps conquer cancer

Law firm, DibbsBarker has pledged their support for cancer research by signing on as sponsor for the Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer – raising funds for the Queensland Institute of Medical Research.

QIMR External Relations Manager, Vivienne Johnson said that DibbsBarker will be playing a very important part in the Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer taking place on 20-21 August.

“Riders will be very pleased to see the DibbsBarker Hydration Station and staff cheering them along on their two-day long, 200 kilometre ride,” Ms Johnson said.

“The law firm will be making sure all our cyclists get plenty of water on their epic journey and will also be providing the all important restroom facilities along the route.

“DibbsBarker’s support is invaluable in helping make the Rio Tinto Ride to Conquer Cancer a comfortable and fun event for all the riders and helps QIMR continue our cancer research program.”

DibbsBarker has a strong presence in the community, by supporting charitable organisations, such as QIMR, through their DibbsReach program.

Brisbane partner and head of the DibbsREACH community program, Matthew Rollason said that joining the fight against cancer was an important cause for the DibbsBarker.

“Cancer sadly touches many families, including my own. That is what makes it personal,” Mr Rollason said.

“There is no better cause than to help the fight against this disease and through the firm’s DibbsREACH Program and the commitment of our people we hope to help make a difference by supporting QIMR in its quest to conquer cancer.”
