Biotech conference builds ties to India

The Queensland Institute of Medical Research is proud to host the 7th Indo-Australia Biotechnology Conference from 25-27 October at the Mercure, Brisbane.

More than 100 of Australia’s and India’s top biotechnology experts are coming together to hear the latest research findings.

The conference aims to strengthen the collaborative links between Australia and India and the application of biotechnology techniques across both cultures.

Speakers include Professor Suzanne Cory, President of the Australian Academy of Science, Professor Ian Frazer, and Professor Brendan Crabb, Director of the Burnet Institute in Melbourne.

“It is our pleasure to welcome the many Australian and Indian delegates who are visiting Brisbane in beautiful, tropical southeast Queensland during the three days of this conference.”

“The last meeting in Hyderabad, India was an outstanding success and we congratulate our colleagues on that meeting and hope that this meeting is just as successful and enjoyable,” said Associate Professor Rajiv Khanna from QIMR’s Tumour Immunology Laboratory.

“Friendship and the desire to make a difference to the world are two of the strongest bonds that unite medical and agricultural researchers. We hope that this conference allows these researchers to work together to make that difference.”
