The Brisbane Immunology Group was established in 1999 as part of the Queensland branch of the Australasian Society for Immunology.
It is a broad organisation, embracing basic and clinical, cellular and molecular immunology in humans and animals. One of the major focuses of the member institutions of the BIG is translational immunology research. BIG also provides opportunity for various groups within Queensland to collaborate with other instate organisations through exchange programs and the annual meeting. BIG members have played an important role in advancing the field of immunology.
Membership to BIG is free and all institutions in Queensland are eligible to join BIG.
Over many years, BIG has been supported by the QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute and Australasian Society for Immunology.
