The QIMR Berghofer Medical Research Institute Human Research Ethics Committee (QIMR Berghofer-HREC) is a committee established by the Council of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research, to ensure maintenance of ethical standards in research and compliance with regulatory guidelines. The QIMR Berghofer-HREC is committed to the ethical conduct of research involving humans.
Animal Ethics Committee
QIMR Berghofer is committed to the ethical care and use of animals for scientific purposes. The Council of the Queensland Institute of Medical Research has established the QIMR Berghofer Animal Ethics Committee (QIMR Berghofer-AEC) to ensure compliance of regulatory guidelines by students and staff, and provides assistance to staff and students in the consideration of ethical issues in research involving animals. The QIMR Berghofer-AEC provides annual reports to the Institute as well as to state and federal governments.
