Come and see the inner workings of one of Australia’s largest and most successful research institutes for yourself. QIMR Berghofer welcomes visits from community groups, schools and other not-for-profit organisations.
Tours of QIMR Berghofer’s Herston facility are free, and are approximately two hours in length. The tour includes a presentation in our auditorium, a guided laboratory visit, and the opportunity to hear from some of Australia’s leading medical researchers. Morning tea is provided, with a gold coin donation for each cup of coffee gratefully accepted.
Tours can be arranged for groups between 10 and 30 people. Bookings are essential. Enclosed footwear must be worn for entry into laboratories. The minimum age is 12 (with anyone under 18 accompanied and supervised by an adult).
Tours can be booked Monday to Thursday, and run from 10 am to 12 noon. Tours outside of these times can be organised on request.
For individuals and very small groups interested in a tour, the Institute is open to the public each year for Brisbane Open House.
